Use Yahoo Messenger At Work And School
Today, I have a good news to all Yahoo Messenger addicted. Do you feel anxious, eager at your office or your school since most of work places and school have their own firewalls set to block the ports needed to connect to Yahoo Messenger. Did you know they do this so that their employees or students are doing their job and not waisting their time chatting on the net. But now I will show you how easy we can still wasting our time chatting on the net using Yahoo Messenger. Haha.. Not wasting time actually, sometimes we really need to use Yahoo Messenger isn’t it? so I assume that you are really desperate and really need to use Yahoo Messenger.
Before that, let me make assumption that you alraedy have Yahoo Messenger client installed to your PC or laptop and you have permission to install software to your machine. I am using this with Yahoo Messenger 8.0 and don’t tell me why I am not using Yahoo Messenger 9 or latest version. Just because I like Yahoo Messenger 8.0.hehe.
Okay, lets begin the fastest and easiest way to by pass firewall and use Yahoo Messenger. First you need to download and install a software called Your-Freedom here and install to your machine (as I said before I assume that you have permission to install software to your machine). Before you can use “Your-Freedom”, you need to register an account first, then register here. (Use your actual email since you need to click on the link to activate your account)
After confirmed “Your Freedom” account and installed it to your machine, open it and the following screen will appear, asking for Your-Freedom configuration:
1. Its said welcome to us. Just click “Next”
2. Then, it ask you the proxy server. Just ignore it and click “Next” (if you have your own proxy server insert it)
3. On this step, tick all boxes and click “Next”
4. Then, it will searching for available server. Wait a while with a little bit patient
5. Nah!! A lot of available server for you. Select one of them (the upper the better I think)
6. Next, insert your username and password ( as you register before if not, register here)
7. Then, finish… Click on “Save and Exit”
8. Opss, not finished yet. After that try to find your self the “Applications” tab and tick the application that you want to use with “Your-Freedom”. I just tick Yahoo Messenger. Tick others if you want. Its up to you since I don’t have any ability to prevent you to do so. 
9. Open your Yahoo Messenger client and login as usual.
Now you can chat and wasting your time over the net again. Happy trying and enjoy.

Do you know that at certain University or office, you cannot access to meebo and another web application even Yahoo! Webmessenger. Thats why this freedom is an alternative way to make you online.

err. pe fak your-freedom. kene bayar kot. i mean, yes, u can use the free version, tp ade limit timeframe.
better go for freegate.
or even better. modified tor. i mean, tor basically is a multilayer proxy so it goes through hell lots of proxy due to security reason / privacy. edit the torrc and make just 1 layer, and u got one god-damn fast superb excellent proxy application.

Your Freedom free to use and no need to edit / debug anything..yes, there are time limit about 6 hours a day. It is better than cannot do anything rite…

@ Faiz : Actually the onion-layered tor is very simple. The stuff I told you about is particularly hacking through tor and make it super-duper fast, which is good if u’re using a very2 slow internet (such as UTP once before). If not, just download the tor vidalia. Google it and download @ torproject.org . These open-sauces ppl are very helpful for these.

Sorry, I’ve no idea about tor..I am happy to use yourfreedom so far, and i’ve not facing any problem every time I wanna use my yahoo messenger at any gov network..hehe..

Yes you will not. But eventually you will when it comes to the time-limit set by yourfreedom, which limits “your freedom”, rather than tor. And if u’re an open-sauce supporter, for sure u’ll go for tor haha.

Simply stop and start the connection again. Is it really a problem for you? By the way, there are so many, many, many ways to go online with yahoo messenger in your school or any private company network. But I thought that this is the simple and easy way to use plus user friendly is the most important thing for the END USER. I repeat, end user and not the developer or any open source contributor. If you got any other super greater method, then please tell us the “How To Use” instead of “Please Do” or “Please Use” this method. TQ

p.s : User-friendly if always need to stop and start connection? Surely a one time setting and no more hassle is worth to be called ‘user-friendly’ lol. Well, I’ll keep it to myself anyway if you still wish to argue lol.

i’ve install the yahoo messenger 8.0 and your freedom software, and i’ve been able to surf some site but i still can use that yahoo messenger and i’d follow all your procedure, if there is any help you can render to me, i will appreciate it. thanks

Ismail, have you configure your Yahoo Messenger to use with Your Freedom Software? Refer to step number 8 and 9. Mine is working even on Yahoo Messenger 9.

I’m so sorry xeroox3k2, I’m not one of Tor fans. Seems like carbonytte guy is the True Tor Fans. Maybe he know about Tor much.
By the way, I’ve tried to use Tor..but, its not user friendly and difficult to reach the Vidalia network, and from my experience, I can’t reach some website by using Tor..or maybe I don’t really know how to use it..hurm…

okay, i got a question.why is my freedom always kicks me out of the no.8 setting?it say something about configuration backup already exist and when i sign in the yahoo messenger(8.0)it doesn’t enter thus really makes me mad…help me with this one please?i really need to talk to my friend using ym cuz i got SPM(malaysia form 5 test) this year….my friend here is very good at teaching others..

@FaridX: you can click on “Restore your old configuration settings” click OK and click back “Configure your application to use YF”. Hope it work.

how do u say i will modify tor to make it v fast..can u send me details to totaiwo4sure@yahoo.co.uk .with all this settings my yahoo messenger didnt work.i uninstall it.am using 10.0 version or is it not compartible?am downloading pidgin now.how do i config that to work.(note i already config my internet explorer.)

Another way is by accessing through meebo. Applications such as YM, GTalk, also MSN Msgr can easily be accessed behind firewall.
